Early Life and Background: Palesa Mokubung hails from Kroonstad, located in the Free State province of South Africa. In 2014, she successfully earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Fashion Design from Vanderbijlpark Technical College.

Career Journey:

From the very beginning, Palesa Mokubung's career path was crystal clear, aligning perfectly with her creative vision. "When I finished school, I didn't agonize over my future; I knew I belonged in the realm of the arts. I vividly remember going to Vaal Technical College (now known as Vaal University of Technology) to enroll, and it just so happened that the fashion design queue was the shortest – so I joined that line," Palesa recalls.

Since those formative days, Palesa has left an indelible mark in the world of fashion, founding her renowned label, Mantsho, in 2004. Her mission was clear: to celebrate the beauty of women and champion the African fashion narrative in a contemporary and forward-looking manner. "Mantsho," she explains, "means 'a beautiful black woman' or 'black is beautiful.' I wanted a name that would echo my profound admiration for women."

With an exceptional ability to strike the perfect balance between practicality and aesthetics, Palesa's creations radiate both strength and femininity, leaving those who wear them feeling both comfortable and elegantly poised. Following her triumphant journey in fashion, Palesa has ventured into the realms of homeware and accessories. "I'm an artist at heart, and my love for beautiful things initially gravitated toward interior design, but it was fashion that called out to me," the multifaceted designer reveals.
