Zamaswazi Nkosi is a self-taught South African fashion designer renowned for his innovative “African meets West” couture. Born and raised in Zola, Soweto, Nkosi’s journey into fashion began unexpectedly after a knee injury ended his budding soccer career at age 21. With limited resources, he began upcycling his sisters’ old clothing, unknowingly honing his design skills.

His designs seamlessly blend traditional African textiles with contemporary Western styles, creating garments that are both culturally rich and globally appealing. Nkosi’s work has garnered attention from high-profile figures, including Miss South Africa 2020 Shudufhadzo Musida, Miss South Africa 2021 Lalela Mswane, Idols SA judge Somizi Mhlongo, and actress Connie Chiume.
