About B Proud Design
Established over six years ago, B Proud Design was born out of a desire to reconnect with African roots and heritage. Makeda, originally from Suriname, and Rachida, born in the Netherlands, embarked on a journey to explore their African ancestry. Inspired by the rich traditions and vibrant cultures of the African continent, they began creating jewelry and clothing that tell the stories of their ancestors. Their collections incorporate natural materials such as cowrie shells, seeds, and gourds, reflecting a deep connection to Mother Earth.
Today, B Proud Design has expanded its reach, with their creations worn in over 15 countries, including notable appearances at events like the premiere of The Lion King. Their offerings include custom-made garments, ready-to-wear fashion, and accessories that embody a royal aesthetic and cultural storytelling.
