Former Big Brother Mzansi Contestant Yolanda Monyai is trending this morning, after she went live on her TikTok account and got 5.1 million likes in 69 minutes. “Come 1 May by fire by force we are touring!” This was a quote from her live video on TikTok vehemently promising that she does indeed plan on going on a tour across all South African provinces. Yolanda Monyai has a powerful fan base she calls the ‘Yolifires’, and these people are said to be the reason the Big Brother Mzansi TikTok page has been getting traction.

The fans nationwide are saying that Yolanda herself with her fanbase is bigger than the Big Brother fanbase that’s existing. The 5.1 million likes on TikTok in such a short space of time is a milestone in and out of itself. These views have reached the proportion of Tory Lanez’ quarantine radio when he did them live on Instagram back in 2020. But even those views were a small amount compared to what Yolanda Monyai achieved.

The main criticism is that fair and fine the fans are showing appreciation for the reality show diva, she does however have a Go Fund Me initiative to aid her financial situation, and the question most people are asking is that is she able to make a social media presence translate into cash?. She has managed to raise $7,926.23 (USD), with the majority of those donations being from online and the $2,474.23 (USD) being raised offline.

Yolanda is loved because she fully embraced herself, seeing herself as beautiful regardless of her skin pigmentation situation has made her a fan favorite. Her free spirited nature and her acts of kindness have been a topic of discourse and made her an influencer in her own right. Its only so long before  the life-changing endorsements come knocking at her door.
